Dear Early Years Parents
I would like to take this opportunity to wish you a very safe and happy National Day holiday. Please enjoy the time with friends and family over this coming week and I look forward to seeing everyone back at school on Monday 10th October.
EAL Parent Information Meeting
For parents of students new to English or those interested in hearing about language proficiency progression, the EAL department at WISS will be presenting how language acquisition is supported on Friday 14th October. The PYP session will be from 1:00pm – 2:00pm. The Secondary presentation will be from 2:00pm – 3:00pm. Both sessions will take place in the Annex, located in the Secondary building.
Reminder – After School Play
If you would like to remain at school after you have collected your child from the Parent Pick-Up room, please note that the only area that you are able to play with your child are the climbing frames. You MUST supervise your child at all times. There should be no families playing in the Pre-Nursery playground as this equipment is intended for very young students only and is not for access after school.
Please also note that Early Years children cannot use the Primary Jungle Playground. This playground is for children in Grade One and above.
Please also be aware that the Community Room, classrooms and Foyer are not open for after school play. These areas should be vacated at the end of the school day.

Reminder – Giving Tree
If you would like to sponsor a migrant child, please complete the Giving Tree form that was sent home on Sept 19th, attached 250rmb and send it back to school. On your behalf WISS Giving Tree committee will fill a Giving Tree bag for the child you sponsor ensuring all required items are enclosed!
If you need another form or have not received it, please let me know at email@example.com and I will send one for you.
The Giving Tree recipients are students at migrant schools in Shanghai and nearby provinces who live in basic conditions, learn from limited resources and in large class sizes, and whose families often struggle to meet basic needs. For more information about Giving Tree, please visit www.communitycenter.cn/givingtree
You have the opportunity to inspire a migrant child in need with a personalized gift bag full of winter clothes, school supplies, water bottle, a book and a toy. These small tokens of kindness, costing 250 RMB per bag, can make a difference to a child!
On 29th November, a group of WISS students and staff will go to a migrant primary school in Jiading to personally deliver the Giving Tree bags to 300 children in need and we need your help to fill the bags!
Thank you to those who already returned the forms with money attached. You or your child will receive a card on the second week of October with the details of the migrant child you will sponsor.
Thank you for your support.
